Mr Fothergills - Vegetable - David Domoney - Spinach Samish F1 Seed Tape
Deliciously mild flesh
A fast growing, globe-shaped variety with excellent colour and deliciously mild flesh
Seeds are pre-spaced along a fully biodegradable tape to make sowing really quick, easy and neat
The tape also holds moisture around the seeds to improve germination and seedling survival rates
Get Sowing: Outdoors, February-September. Make a narrow trench or 'drill,' around 1.5cm deep, directly where the crop is to grow, then unroll the tape and place in the drill. For ease, secure one end of the tape with a large stone or cane, then pull the tape straight, cut to length if necessary and gently cover with fine soil.
Space rows 20cm apart. Keep the soil moist.
Sow some of the seed tape every 2-3 weeks to extend your harvest period.
Early sowings will benefit from cloche protection in cold weather.
Get Growing: Seedlings should start to appear in 7-14 days. Keep well watered and weed free.
Get Harvesting: April-October. Take alternate radishes from the row, giving the others room to grow larger.
Radishes are fast growing so, to make best use of space, plant between rows of slower growing crops, such as parsnips.
